Lesson One: Bicyclists Rights and Responsibilities on the Road
Lesson One will cover all the rights and responsibilities of a cyclist in the state of Michigan. Topics covered will include where a bicyclist may ride in the roadway, riding on sidewalks, hand and arm signals, and bicycle lighting requirements.
Under Michigan Law, a bicycle is considered traffic and has the same rights and responsibilities applicable to the driver of a motor vehicle.
Cyclists should DRIVE their bikes, much like they would drive a motor vehicle as they fare best when they act and are treated as drivers of vehicles.
